Abstract

The aim of our study is based on modeling the flow of non-Newtonian fluids such as crude oil in pipelines. The transport of hydrocarbons in pipelines is often disturbed by several parameters such as thermal effects, the pipeline geometry , the pressure,
the viscosity, the density, and the fluid-solid interaction. But, since crude oil is a non-Newtonian fluid, its complex flow cannot be described by conventional models. To treat this, we used the models of Phan Thien and Tanner (PTT) and Maxwell by taking into account the laminar regime.The obtained results converge to the experimental ones.
